Protecting Migrant Workers’ Rights in Lebanon amid Political, Economic and Health Crises

In this article, Jasmin Lilian Diab shines a light on the plight of domestic workers caught under the Kafala system in Lebanon: “migrant domestic workers in Lebanon are not governed by the country‚Äôs labour laws, but are rather confined by an archaic Kafala system, an inherently abusive migration sponsorship system, which puts them at an increased risk of being subjected to labour exploitation, forced labour and human trafficking.”
