Q&A with former European Court of Human Rights Judge Paul Lemmens: “Ensuring respect for human rights is team work”

Paul Lemmens took up office in 2012 as the Belgian judge at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. In September 2021, his nine-year term ended. In this interview, he talks about his work at the Court, threats to European democracy, and Russia ceasing to be party to the European Convention on Human Rights.
